It's fair to say that often engineers are excellent at devising innovative ways of solving problems, but aside from the likes of James Dyson, can't always work out how best to present what they do to the world.
Lateral design and manufacture the majority of the conversion kits in the UK that find their way onto vehicles for wheelchair access. Aside from built-in ramps, wheelchair harness systems and suspension lowering kits, they also develop ramps for a multitude of uses from ambulance access to getting a motorbike into the back of a van.
As the owner, Steve Greenwood was from a motoring background, we wanted to give the brand a fresh vibrant feel, to give the end-user a feeling that their products were actually desireable. We felt that traditionally in the industry, product design had too much focus an disabilities rather than the enabling benefits.
